Cocoa

Cocoa

Cocoa originates from South America and was used by the Mayans for ceremonial and health purposes.   It is harvested from the cacao fruit tree, also known as Theobroma Cacao, in the same way as cacao.

Not to be confused with cacao, cocoa beans are heated to a higher temperature which removes the bitterness and creates a naturally sweet taste.  As a result raw cacao has greater health benefits but the humble cocoa is still nutritionally rich and retains a large amount of antioxidants.

High in fibre, iron and magnesium cocoa also contains phenylethylamine and may boost serotonin levels which can help to act as a natural antidepressant.  Cocoa is also a rich source of fibre and excellent for your heart and skin.

High in antioxidants, fibre and iron, cocoa is a natural anti-depressant.

It is also a food which has been proved to lower blood pressure, improve circulation, promote cardiovascular function and health, improve digestion and help neutralise free radicals.

We have blended a generous serving of raw cacao together with some naturally sweet cocoa, beetroot, maca, baobab and Himalayan rose pink salt into our HIMALAYAN SALTED CACAO.  This decadent smooth chocolate blend is high fibre, high protein and packed full of antioxidants.
