Made from the natural sap of coconut palm trees, coconut sugar retains the nutrients found in the coconut palm, including iron, zinc, calcium, potassium, polyphenols and antioxidants.
These phytonutrients help reduce blood sugar, inflammation and cholesterol, making coconut sugar a better option than many other sweeteners. Most notably potassium, magnesium, and sodium are all essential for regulating your body’s water content as well as many heart, nerve, and muscle functions. Whilst the antioxidants are believed to fight off the oxidation of cells in the body which helps combat the ageing process.
Coconut sugar contains good amounts of a dietary fibre called inulin which is believed to slow glucose absorption and explains why coconut sugar has a lower glycemic index than normal table sugar. Whilst delicious and better for you than white sugar it is still a sugar and so we have used just a very small amount of organic coconut nectar sugar in our smooth, creamy and indulgent HIMALAYAN SALTED CACAO.
